Basketball Recap: Wheatland-Grinnell Comes Up Short

Wheatland-Grinnell lost against Quinter back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thunderhawks were dealt a 58-18 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Thunderhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.

Despite the loss, Wheatland-Grinnell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jackson Foster shot 56% from the field to rack up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Colt Werth had another great game (as he tends to do), going 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points for Quinter. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrik Selensky, who posted eight points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wheatland-Grinnell fell to 2-1. As for Quinter, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Wheatland-Grinnell has already played their next contest, a 51-42 defeat against Oakley on the 13th. As for Quinter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-45 victory against Ellis on the 13th.
