Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence lost to Grinnell back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to the Tigers.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Grinnell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Independence has already played their next contest (against Crestwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Grinnell, they will challenge Center Point-Urbana at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Stormin' Pointers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
