Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Deer Lakes

Deer Lakes won the last time they faced Yough and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lancers walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

The team relied heavily on Ben Shurina, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Shurina, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Deer Lakes' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Yough, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Looking ahead, Deer Lakes will square off against Taylor Allderdice at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Yough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
