Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-43 loss at the hands of the Bishop Moore Hornets.

Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of CHAUNCIONA DAVIS, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 18 points and five assists, and LOVELY GABRIEL, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. GABRIEL is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted four or more in the last five games she's played.

Alex Wolsonovich had an outrageously good game for Bishop Moore as she went 9 of 20 en route to 23 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That's the most points Wolsonovich has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Peterson, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Bishop Moore, they moved to 7-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-47 win against Jensen Beach on the 28th. Bishop Moore has also already played their next game, a 68-45 victory against Melbourne on the 28th.
