Softball Recap: Thomas Nelson Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Thomas Nelson finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 22-0 to the Nelson County Cardinals. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Generals were not able to get on the board.

With the loss, Thomas Nelson broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Nelson County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Nelson will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bardstown at 6:00 p.m. on April 8. We've got a battle between Cardinals coming up. Taylor County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Nelson County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
