Preview: Norfolk Catholic Knights vs. Boone Central Cardinals
After six games on the road, Norfolk Catholic is heading back home. They will take on the Boone Central Cardinals at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Norfolk Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over O'Neill, taking the game 48-37.
Eva Hartzell and Sidonia Wattier were among the main playmakers for Norfolk Catholic as the former scored 19 points along with six rebounds and the latter scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wattier has scored at least a third of Norfolk Catholic's points.
Meanwhile, after only 17 points in their last contest, Boone Central made sure to put some points up on the board against Ord on Friday. Boone Central snuck past Ord with a 55-49 victory.
Norfolk Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Boone Central, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.
Norfolk Catholic strolled past Boone Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 52-37. Will Norfolk Catholic repeat their success, or does Boone Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
