Basketball Recap: Strawberry Crest Comes Up Short

Strawberry Crest lost against Tampa Bay Tech back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Strawberry Crest Chargers fell 73-61 to the Tampa Bay Tech Titans. The Chargers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Tampa Bay Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aamir Stafford, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those 21 points gave Stafford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Clark, who posted 21 points.

Strawberry Crest's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strawberry Crest will square off against Middleton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strawberry Crest is facing Middleton at the right time seeing as Middleton is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will face off against King at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tampa Bay Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
