Baseball Recap: Washington Gets the Win

While Washington didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past the West Craven Eagles 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pam Pack.

Bryce Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Washington is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 2-3 otherwise. Williams was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lane Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Korbyn Arnold, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Washington's record is now 6-3. As for West Craven, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Washington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-5 victory against Farmville Central on the 25th. As for West Craven, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against New Bern on the 24th.
