Baseball Recap: Crawford Colts vs. Kearny Komets

Crawford can finally bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kearny Komets and snuck past 4-2. This was a revenge game for Crawford, as the team was forced to settle for a 12-7 loss when these two played last Wednesday.

Abbel Martinez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Marshall, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

On Kearny's side, Laird Eaton was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Eaton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and an RBI.

Eaton wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Ackerman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Crawford's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-20. As for Kearny, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-9.

As of now, neither Crawford nor Kearny have any future games scheduled.
