Soccer Game Preview: Hanover vs. Powhatan

The Hanover Hawks will square off against the Powhatan Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Hanover is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mechanicsville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They and the Mustangs finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Hanover's first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Powhatan). They never let Richmond High School for the Arts get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Powhatan needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Powhatan's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-7-1. With that draw, Hanover's record moves to 5-4-1.
