Basketball Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Pace extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-7. They fell 50-42 to the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 276th).

As for Pensacola Catholic, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. That looming 50-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Among those leading the charge was Jaden Ngo, who went 7-for-8 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Those 18 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Quebedeaux, who posted 13 points.

Pace didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-53 loss against Gulf Breeze on the 5th. As for Pensacola Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 77-33 victory against Pensacola Christian Academy on the 5th.
