Softball Recap: Westview Takes a Loss

Westview made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fairfield, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 10-8 on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Ava Gilbert and Myra Miller did some serious damage despite the final result: Gilbert went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Miller went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Jillian Bontrager was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-4. As for Fairfield, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview will head out to challenge Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Eastside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
