Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn Elks vs. Waterford Wolverines

The Elkhorn Elks will face off against the Waterford Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Elkhorn comes in on six and Waterford on three.

Last Tuesday, Elkhorn made easy work of Union Grove and carried off a 69-46 win. Given the Elks' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Broncos are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Waterford won against Beloit Memorial on Thursday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Waterford strolled past Burlington with points to spare, taking the game 70-52.

Waterford pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Elkhorn, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
