Basketball Recap: Hampshire Triumphs

Hampshire hadn't done well against Huntley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hampshire Whip-Purs walked away with a 67-59 win over the Huntley Red Raiders. This was a revenge game for the Whip-Purs: when they faced off against the Red Raiders back in December of 2024, they had to take a 60-53 defeat.

Hampshire is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-15 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Huntley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampshire will head out to face off against Cary-Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Huntley, they will head out on the road to take on Jacobs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Huntley is facing Jacobs at the right time seeing as Jacobs is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
