Baseball Recap: New Hope Takes a Loss

New Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Austin Black Bears. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

New Hope saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Layne, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Andrew Dudley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

New Hope now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

New Hope will take on Fairhope in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Austin, they will be taking part in a tournament against Gallatin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
