Baseball Recap: Grafton Finds Home Field Redemption Against Quaboag Regional

There's no place like home for Grafton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Quaboag Regional Cougars a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Liam Cohen looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, C.J. Chagnon was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Coonan, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Grafton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Grafton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Quaboag Regional, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Grafton will take on Auburn at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight. As for Quaboag Regional, they will challenge Prouty at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
