Basketball Game Preview: Kendrick Cherokees vs. Northside Patriots + Official Tickets

The Kendrick Cherokees will take on the Northside Patriots in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kendrick has eight straight victories, Northside has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kendrick is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Hardaway, posting an 84-43 win. Given the Cherokees' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Hawks are ranked 485th) , the win on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Noah Harris had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 50% from the field en route to 18 points and six steals. Those six steals gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Spivey, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Kendrick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Northside played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Russell County an easy 55-31 victory. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kendrick's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Northside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Kendrick couldn't quite get it done against Northside in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as they fell 68-58. Can the Cherokees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
