Despite the loss, Neuse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lyla Lindstrom posted 12 points and seven boards. Lindstrom has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Thales Academy Apex got the win against Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill on Friday by a conclusive 48-27. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.
Neuse Christian Academy better keep an eye on Anna Maass. She was instrumental in Thales Academy Apex's win, putting up 20 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Sproul, who had nine points in addition to five boards and four steals.
