Bogue Chitto took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lawrence County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bogue Chitto Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Lawrence County Cougars 12-11. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bobcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Manny Conerly looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tripp McCaffrey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Paxton Waldrop was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Bogue Chitto pushed their record up to 3-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Lawrence County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, Bogue Chitto will square off against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lawrence County, they will be playing at home against Raymond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
