After a string of three wins, Fairhope's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the University Cougars. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 16th in Alabama, while the Cougars are ranked 67th in Florida).
