Catholic Central strolled into their game on Monday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Calvin Christian Squires with a sharp 19-10 win. Considering the Cougars have won 17 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on A Owen, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. J Buchanan was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Catholic Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive games.

Catholic Central's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-0-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.4 runs over those games. As for Calvin Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catholic Central will challenge Forest Hills Central at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calvin Christian, they will head out to take on Kelloggsville at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
