League recap: Davis breaks off league-leading run for Windermere Prep

Windermere Prep's Parker Davis recorded the longest rushing play in Sunshine State - North this season in his game against First Academy last week. Davis scampered for 55 yards on the play and finished with 91 on the day as his team fell to the Eagles.

First Academy extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Windermere Prep, 46-20. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Ocala Christian's dynamic duo of Trevor Smith and Joey Kauffman proved tough for Legacy Charter to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Smith threw for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns and Kauffman had 93 yards receiving. David Cizmadia helped Ocala Christian's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 26 yards.

David Elliott was a force in the backfield as the Eagles topped Jacob Doss' team.

Byron Masoline made the biggest impact on defense this week as First Academy defeated the Lakers. The 5-foot-8 senior.

Elliott provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Eagles beat Windermere Prep.

The Lakers' Davis and Andrew Kane led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 1,005 yards this season, while Kane, a 6-foot-6 receiver, has 23 catches for 377 yards. Masoline from First Academy leads the league in rushing with 377 yards.

A big matchup in Sunshine State - North this week will be when Mount Dora Bible takes on Windermere Prep. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in second, while the Lakers are in fourth.

The Eagles moved up to 406 from 464 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. First Academy was able to move up by beating Windermere Prep 46-20.
