Baseball Game Preview: Cabrillo Conquistadores vs. St. Joseph Knights

The Cabrillo Conquistadores will square off against the St. Joseph Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Cabrillo nor St. Joseph posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Friday just wasn't the day for Cabrillo's offense. They fell 3-0 to Lompoc on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Conquistadores let down their fans at home.

Cabrillo got a good showing from Jacob Low, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Low has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Cabrillo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Kiesling, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, St. Joseph's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. The game marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

St. Joseph also got a good showing from Ryan Aparicio, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Cabrillo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Cabrillo skirted past St. Joseph 6-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Cabrillo have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Joseph turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
