Softball Recap: Forrest Finds Home Field Redemption Against Grundy County

There's no place like home for Forrest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Grundy County Yellowjackets a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Rockets have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Forrest has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Grundy County, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Looking ahead, Forrest will be playing in front of their home fans against Christ Presbyterian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grundy County, they will challenge Marion County at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
