Softball Recap: Richmond Takes a Loss

Hercules hit Richmond with a ten-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Oilers lost 16-4 to the Titans. The Oilers have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Richmond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hercules, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richmond will venture away from home to square off against Swett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Oilers will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Hercules, they will head out on the road to face off against Piedmont at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
