Volleyball Recap: Winnetonka Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kearney, Winnetonka was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Paseo Academy of Performing Arts Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Griffins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-6, 25-18.

Winnetonka found their leader in sophomore Emily Nguyen, who had 21 assists and five digs. Those 21 assists set a new season-high mark for Nguyen. Leilani Bedwell also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Winnetonka's victory ended a seven-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10-1. As for Paseo Academy of Performing Arts, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Winnetonka will take on Grandview at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Paseo Academy of Performing Arts, they will face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
