Basketball Recap: Olympus Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Olympus won the last time they faced East and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Olympus Titans took down the East Leopards 82-63. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Leopards are ranked 70th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, East saw an underclassman step up: freshman Oscar Keegan went 9-for-15 to rack up 21 points and five rebounds. Those 21 points gave Keegan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Lunt, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points.

Olympus' victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for East, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Coming up, Olympus will take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olympus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East, they will challenge Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brighton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
