Baseball Recap: Lawrence County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Lawrence County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Bogue Chitto on Tuesday. Everything went the Lawrence County Cougars' way against the Raymond Rangers as the Lawrence County Cougars made off with a 10-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Josh Sandifer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Caden Case was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Lawrence County moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Raymond, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will host Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Raymond, they will welcome McComb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McComb has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.2 runs per game on average), something Raymond will no doubt try to take advantage of.
