Kinder has gone 6-1 against South Beauregard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Yellowjackets will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Kinder's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so South Beauregard's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Kinder is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sulphur just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Brianna Fontenot put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Samantha Hayes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, South Beauregard fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Merryville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kinder's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for South Beauregard, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Everything went Kinder's way against South Beauregard in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Kinder made off with a 12-2 victory. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
