Basketball Recap: Moody Takes a Loss

Moody lost against Oak Mountain back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Moody Blue Devils were beaten by the Oak Mountain Eagles 84-57. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Eagles are ranked 19th).

Oak Mountain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Patterson out in front who posted 20 points. That's the most points Patterson has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chase Lamey, who put up 22 points.

Moody's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Oak Mountain, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Moody won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Springville at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oak Mountain, they will host Hewitt-Trussville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Hewitt-Trussville likes a good challenge.
