Harlan County's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pike County Central Hawks, sneaking past 4-2. The Black Bears haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jesse Gilbert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Dashaun Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Aiden Craig also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Harlan County's victory bumped their record up to 2-5-1. As for Pike County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harlan County will host Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pike County Central, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Morgan County at 6:00 p.m. The Hawks are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
