Softball Recap: Marriotts Ridge Starts Season with Victory Against Francis Scott Key

Marriotts Ridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Francis Scott Key Eagles, sneaking past 7-6.

Marriotts Ridge's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Miles, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Francis Scott Key's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Marriotts Ridge will head out to face off against Wilde Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Marriotts Ridge's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Francis Scott Key, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Francis Scott Key Eagles face off against Winters Mill Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
