Football Recap: Seaford Bluejays vs. Indian River Indians
After flying high against DuPont last Friday, Seaford came back down to earth. The Bluejays fell 35-26 to the Indian River Indians on Friday. Despite 155 more yards than the Indians, the Bluejays couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Seaford's loss came despite strong showings from Vince Evans III and Taishawn Frisby. Evans III threw for 195 yards and two TDs, while Frisby picked up 165 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Darnell Stokes Jr. had an outrageously good game for Indian River as he rushed for 66 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and one TD. Davon Handy was in the mix as well, providing the Indians with two touchdowns.
Seaford's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Indian River, the victory was the 11th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.
Looking ahead, Seaford is taking a road trip to face off against Colonel Richardson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Indian River, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Milford at 6:00 p.m.
