Basketball Recap: Rootstown Starts off Right with Win over Firestone

Rootstown took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 55-21 victory over the Firestone Falcons. The Rovers pushed the score to 53-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Rootstown had a senior duo take command as Cloe Bengtson posted 14 points and Colbie Curall earned 15 points. Mia Damicone was another key player, putting up six points.

Firestone's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rootstown will host Lake Center Christian at 6:45 p.m. on December 3. As for Firestone, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on St. Joseph Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
