Soccer Recap: Dripping Springs Takes a Loss

Dripping Springs lost against Lake Travis back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dripping Springs Tigers fell just short of the Lake Travis Cavaliers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 44th).

Dripping Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Lake Travis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Dripping Springs take on the Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dripping Springs' last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lake Travis, they will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Travis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.
