Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over the Compton Early College Rising Phoenix on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Apaches as it put an end to their 16-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Centennial's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-15. As for Compton Early College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Centennial will challenge Hawthorne at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Compton Early College has already played their next contest (against Ambassador), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
