There's no place like home for Crystal City, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. Everything went their way against the Cotulla Cowboys on Monday as they made off with  an  11-4 win. Considering the Javelinas have won eight contests by more than six  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Scott Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits (and not a single walk). Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Adrian Zavala, who  fired off two  home runs, three  runs,  and three  RBI while going 3-for-5. Those  home runs marked the first that  he  launched this season. Another player making a difference was  Robert Alvarado, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run.
 Crystal City  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cotulla only posted  an  OBP of  .226.
Crystal City has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cotulla, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-1 record  this season.
 Crystal City will head out to  face off against Lytle  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something the Javelinas surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cotulla, they will welcome Dilley  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Cowboys are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak.
