Soccer Game Preview: La Mirada vs. Dominguez

The La Mirada Matadores are taking a road trip to square off against the Dominguez Dons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Mirada's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, La Mirada didn't have quite enough to beat Firebaugh and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Dominguez kept a clean sheet against Mayfair on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Monsoons, sneaking past 1-0. Dominguez's winning goal came courtesy of Marlon Ayala Mejia.

Dominguez's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for La Mirada, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

La Mirada couldn't quite get it done against Dominguez in their previous meeting back in January of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Matadores avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
