Volleyball Game Preview: Lafayette Commodores vs. Caledonia Cavaliers + Official Tickets

The Lafayette Commodores will square off against the Caledonia Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Lafayette is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over New Hope.

Lafayette had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-10.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Caledonia and Pontotoc had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cavaliers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Warriors 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavaliers have posted against the Warriors since August 14, 2023.

Caledonia got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-20, 17-25, 22-25, 15-6.

Caledonia's win bumped their record up to 21-12-2. As for Lafayette, their victory bumped their record up to 15-19.
