Basketball Recap: Akins Takes a Loss

Akins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 51-40 to the Dripping Springs Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Tigers are ranked 185th).

Akins' defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Dripping Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Akins will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Akins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dripping Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
