Kellis took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Canyon View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Jaguars on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kellis' win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Canyon View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Kellis and Canyon View could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 84th) will meet Centennial (ranked 16th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Canyon View will face off against Willow Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (68 vs. 18).
