Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Sequoyah won the last time they faced Kingston and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians walked away with a 56-45 win over the Redskins. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Redskins are ranked 141st).

Sequoyah's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Kingston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Kingston has already played their next matchup (against Keys), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sequoyah will be paying especially close attention to the Redskins' contest: after the Redskins face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Sequoyah again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
