Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Titans vs. Stockdale Mustangs

Frontier and Stockdale are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Frontier Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Stockdale Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Frontier is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bakersfield Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 78-44. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Eagles are ranked 179th).

Meanwhile, Stockdale opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-55 defeat to Roosevelt.

Frontier's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Stockdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Frontier was able to grind out a solid win over Stockdale when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 55-45. Will Frontier repeat their success, or does Stockdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
