Baseball Recap: Fernley Snags Ninth Victory in Last 12 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Fernley rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Lowry Buckaroos. Surprisingly, this marked the Vaqueros' seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Fernley let Riley McCullar and Joseph Perry run wild. McCullar went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Perry went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave Perry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Welsh, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fernley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-16-1 record this season. As for Lowry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-16.

Fernley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 18-4 victory against Elko on the 9th. Lowry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
