Volleyball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Lakeshore Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

While Manchester had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19.

Olivia Woods paced Manchester's offense, picking up three kills. Woods really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Abbi Austin, racking up two apiece.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lakeshore, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Manchester has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Onsted on the 26th. As for Lakeshore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Northwest on the 23rd.
