Soccer Game Preview: Father Ryan vs. Page

The Father Ryan Irish will take on the Page Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Father Ryan is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Montgomery Bell Academy just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Red. Surprisingly, this marked Father Ryan's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Page). They never let Lincoln County get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for Page in their matchups with Lincoln County: they've now won five in a row.

Page's offense was hitting Lincoln County from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Aidan Pierpoint led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Page's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-2. As for Father Ryan, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-7.
