Hillcrest was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cottonwood on Friday. The Huskies breezed past the Colts to the tune of 49-7. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

K'Von Houston went supernova, throwing for 126 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 64 yards. Charlie Brown was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

Hillcrest's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cottonwood, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Hillcrest and Cottonwood will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Huskies will take on rival Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cottonwood is set to face off against their familiar foe Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
