Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sedgwick County). They blew past the Merino Rams 52-6 on Friday. With the Cougars ahead 44-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Owen Harris had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 163 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Another back making a difference was Brady Mollendor, who rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sedgwick County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 418 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Another reason for the win was Sedgwick County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Merino's QB won't forget Cameron Smith anytime soon given he sacked him three times.

Sedgwick County's record now sits at 4-2. As for Merino, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Sedgwick County and Merino will both be playing Akron the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Rams will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
