Mills University Studies waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Pottsville Apaches by a score of 59-46. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Apaches are ranked 74th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mills University Studies pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Pottsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mills University Studies and Russellville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Pottsville, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clarksville at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
