Soccer Game Preview: Madison County vs. William Monroe

Madison County is 1-6 against William Monroe since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mountaineers will welcome the Dragons at 5:30 p.m. Madison County will be strutting in after a victory while William Monroe will be coming in after a loss.

While Madison County's win against Rappahannock County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountaineers' defense stepped up to hand Rappahannock County a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. Madison County haven't had any issues with Rappahannock County recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, William Monroe came up short against Turner Ashby on Thursday, falling 5-2. William Monroe haven't had much luck with Turner Ashby recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Madison County's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for William Monroe, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-1.
